Grape Seed Extract

What is the role of grape seed extract?

There is strong evidence that grape seed extract is good for many cardiovascular diseases and helps improve poor circulation (chronic venous insufficiency) and high cholesterol. In addition, grape seed extract can reduce the redness caused by the hand and help treat eye diseases associated with diabetes.

Many people are interested in grape seed extract because it contains antioxidants. These antioxidants protect cells from damage and help prevent many diseases. However, it is still too early to determine whether the antioxidant properties of grape seed extract are really beneficial to the human body. Researchers are investigating whether grape seed extract can reduce the risk of certain cancers. At present, the evidence is still unclear.

Researchers have studied grape seed extract for many other diseases, such as premenstrual syndrome, skin damage, and wound healing, but the study has not yet concluded.

How much should I consume?

There are currently no regulations on the intake of grape seed extract. The dose used in the study ranged from 100 to 300 mg/day, and is used in some European countries. The highest safe dose is unclear.

Can it be obtained naturally from food?

Grape seed extract is derived from grapes. Other than that, there are no other sources of food.

What are the risks?

Side effects Grape seed extract is generally considered safe. Side effects include headache, scalp itching, dizziness and nausea.

Risk People who are allergic to grapes are not allowed to consume grape seed extract. If you have bleeding disorders or high blood pressure, please tell your doctor before eating grape seed extract.

Drug Interactions If you take any medication regularly, please explain it to your doctor before using grape seed extract. Grape seed extract interacts with blood thinners, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (aspirin, ibuprofen and naproxen), certain heart drugs, cancer treatments and more.

In view of the lack of safety evidence, it is not recommended for children, pregnant women and lactating women to take grape seed extract.
