\"Annatto<\/p>\n

Annatto\u00a0extract is a food additive obtained from the outer skin of Bixa orellana L seeds by solvent or cold alkaline aqueous solution extraction.<\/p>\n

The food additive annatto (Norbixin) obtained by further hydrolysis and refining in a hot alkaline solution. The main pigment components are Bixin and Norbixin, which have excellent dyeing properties and poor resistance to sunlight. Soluble in water, the aqueous solution is yellow orange and alkaline. Slightly soluble in ethanol. Insoluble under acidic conditions.<\/p>\n
